I just wanted to do a quick review about a few workout DVDs that I have bought recently, completed and now have thoughts about.

First, I want to start off with This Is Tae Bo and Cardio Inferno by Billy Blanks, one word, EXCELLENT. What I like about these workouts and why I bought them was because finally Tae Bo was being done with a few participants in an acutual room. I really don’t like the sound stage type setting or a gym setting (ahem! Insanity) so this is a big plus to me. All of the Tae Bo workouts are excellent, fun, effective, non-stop, badass and innovative, but I never bought into any of them because of the setting. Sounds silly, maybe, but if I don’t like the set I can’t do the workout period.
Secondly, I want to talk about Strength & Core Attack with Trish Muse…boring! It’s a good circuit workout, slow and basic which equals boring to me. Will I do the workout again? Probably the Core one, but not the other ones. Thankfully I only paid $9.99 for the DVDs or I’d be…that’s all I have to say about that.
I never miss when I analyze clips before buying, but I really screwed up on this one. This is not a bad workout and let me explain. When I go to workout, I want to move fast, hit up my body hard and be dripping wet from sweat – not everyone is like me so if you are one who is into steady speed workouts that are calm (lol) then this one is for you. If anybody wants to trade let me know…a clip of it can be found by clicking here.
Third…Be A Knockout With Kendra. I’m going to go ahead and keep this workout DVD because I love Kendra and she’s the best, but this is definitely a beginner workout. I like how the workouts are broken down by sport so the exercises corresponds with them…football, baseball, soccer, etc.
It’s obvious that she is still carrying post baby weight in this workout which has me viewing her in a new light. I no longer think of her as the Girl Next Door or her getting her party on at the Playboy Mansion every night anymore. Odd, huh? The workout is all love, but it’s for beginners to fitness or people who want to start dabbling in exercise for the first time or returning to it.
Lastly, I want to review Metfuel by Michelle Carmichael…EXCELLENT CIRCUIT WORKOUT! I don’t have a body bar so I was forced to use my 20lb barbell pole which was fine. I broke a light bulb in the process of using it for one exercise. Ha! This workout is terrible on the legs (lots of focus on the legs & core)…it’s a hot mess. I’m in love! It’s not a dreadful workout at all and yes, you need some what of good energy before you go in to do this workout. If you are beat from a long day or just too tired in the morning then you probably will need to follow the modifier in the workout which is cool. I had to modify a few things because my legs were on fire at different times – it was my first time doing the workout. I like the exercise combos in this workout. This workout is 60 minutes long ya’ll and it just flies by! This is definitely a tough girl workout. I fought to get it all done properly except for a few modifications I had to do.
This workout is equipment heavy meaning you will need an 8 inch step, a weighted body bar, two pairs of dumbbells (light and heavy) and gliders (I use paper plates).
And that’s all for now…

If Kendra was still carrying baby fat that may explain the low intensity. It sounds like it would be great for a woman who is returning to exercise after giving birth. I’ve always liked Billy, although he gets a little off on his counting reps sometimes. Great reviews!
Why would a woman stop during pregnancy? I wouldn’t.
I wouldn’t (didn’t) either. I meant returning to exercise after the 6 week post-partum healing time.
Got it!
Didn’t know the Tae Bo dvd was out yet!!
It seems to be out in stores, but not online yet. Odd.
