I could not find anything in the stores that could do what this product could simply do without getting all complicated.  I could use my Garmin to help me with intervals, but I use it for running and it has to connect to satellites and whatever…I don’t have time for that unless I’m going out to run. I needed a timer to help me complete my high intensity interval workouts. So, I went with the GymBoss. I don’t need to lose weight so I don’t keep track of how many calories I burn anymore. I just make sure to work very hard during my workouts.

I found out about this timer from Muscle & Fitness Hers Magazine (great magazine for women looking to take their bodies to another level).  This product is also used by Zuzana from bodyrock.tv. I didn’t know that Zuzana was using GymBoss until I went to order it and in the drop down where it asks you what you will be using the GymBoss for and it had “Zuzana’s Youtube” in the list.  Not to mention, this gadget can be used to time Crossfit work out of the day drills.  I was so happy to see that so I was glad I was ordering.

For those who don’t know (crazy if you don’t know) this is Zuzana and she’s wearing the GymBoss while doing one of her many daily workouts.

I paid a total of $23 and some change for this little gadget altogether with shipping. The cost of the GymBoss is $19.99. Shipping options are only standard mail. I got my GymBoss in 3.5 days. I ordered on a Saturday and got it in on a Tuesday. I think shipping is fast for standard mail.

Customer service is great. Website is easy to use (http://www.gymboss.com/). The GymBoss comes in three colors: hot pink (which is on back order and I really wanted this color), silver and black. I got the black one, but I’ll be ordering the other two colors in the near future as well.

The GymBoss takes one triple A battery to power it up. It’s light weight even with the battery in.  The shell of the gadget is thin plastic and kind of on the cheap side so I wouldn’t advise anyone to go stepping on or bashing their Gymboss becauase it will surely break on contact.   The gadget is easy to program and use.  GymBoss can be used with lots of activities (got the list from their site) like Boxing/MMA, Crossfit, Tabata, HIIT, Body for Life, etc.

I really like this piece of fitness equipment.  It works well with all I’m trying to do.  And I think that’s all I have to say about the GymBoss. Here is a pic of my new toy!!!
