Hair Care Products I Use & My New Half Wig

My Hair Care Regiment

As promised…here are all of the products I use in my hair.  Nothing more and nothing less.

hair care products

Back row, left to right:

  • African Pride Hair, Scalp and Skin Mist (moisturizes my hair)
  • Optimum Oil Therapy Ultimate Recovery Shampoo (use 2x per week)
  • Optimum Oil Therapy Ultimate Recovery Conditioner (use 2x per week)
  • BioInfusion Olive Oil Spray (moisturizes my hair)

Front row, left to right

  • BioInfusion Olive Oil Deep Conditioner (I use once a week)
  • Pink Hair Glosser (gives my hair some sheen)

As you can tell, I’m using products that has oil in it and that has moisturizing agents in it. I need all the moisture I can get. After one workout, my hair want to dry out and it starts to feel brittle. Not good!!! That type of thing leads to breakage and I’m trying to re-grow my hair.

I do not use a comb or a thick brush, I use a paddle brush because the bristles are spread out and it doesn’t pull my hair out when I brush from the root of my hair on out to the ends. I brush through my hair two times a day, morning and at night.

I do blow dry my hair on high, but for no more than 7 minutes.  As my hair gets longer it will take longer to dry, but for right now no more than 7 minutes all over.

My First Half Wig

Now, onto my new half wig. I love her! Her name is Helena (synthetic hairs) in a #2 (dark brown) and she is a FreeTress wig. I ordered her from BlackHairSpray.com for $17.99 – most of the wigs on the site is $17.99 human and synthetic.

I paid a shipping fee of $5.95 which came through FedEx Ground so shipping was free (I ordered two wigs, one for myself and one for my best friend so that’s why shipping was a little high).

The hair is very soft, curly and is made of good quality. She has one comb in the front, two combs in the back as well as a drawstring. I can wear her as a wig and I can wear her as a ponytail. Details…

This is such a pretty wig.  The pictures do not show how nice this wig is at all.  I brushed and brushed, but the curls will not go away.  I don’t want them to go away, but I had to test it.

I searched through Black Hairspray and really liked this wig.  I then did a Google search to find review regarding this wig and I came across a Youtube video made by a diva named April (muffinismylovers) and she had did a tutorial on it.  So, I applied my wig as she did the first time I went to put it on and it looked great.  I got lots of compliments on it.  Here is the video!

And here is a pic of me wearing Helena in the ponytail style…you all know how I love my ponytail!  I hope you guys can see the hair.  I’m so bad at taking pics of myself.  Gah!  Oh and excuse my eyebrows…I was growing them out and filling them at the same time.  To date, I’ve had them groomed so no worries. :p

Also, the hair care products I use and the wig I chose are not just for use by women of color.  Any woman can use the products I use and can wear any wig I can.  It’s not limited to race by all means.  The good thing about this wig is that I can take it off and wash my hair whenever I want to.  Wearing sewn in extensions and exercising does not mix with me, but that’s my personal issue.  I love to workout and I love to look nice so quick weaves and ponytail pieces work for me.

Sorry for all the pics, but I wanted to show details….talk to you all soon!!!!
