My first year anniversary on changing my life has come and gone. I cannot believe I missed it! It was on July 12, 2009. A year ago, on July 12, 2008, I had setup one weight loss goal for myself. That goal was for me to lose 50 pounds by May 2, 2009. Well, I lost that 50 pounds plus 7 clothing sizes by January 7, 2009 and not only that I’ve acquired a love for fitness and eating healthy. I have acquired a love for step aerobics, weight lifting, strength training and cardio bootcamps. I’ve also been introduced (through fitness videos) to an array of home video instructors like Jillian Michaels (my favorite), Cathe Friedrich and Amy Bento. I’ve also bought and read fitness and dieting books authored by Arnold Schwarzennegar, Chris Carmichael, Tosca Reno and more. I have become a totally different perfect.
This year has been an incredible one. I found SparkPeople, I found a diet and fitness buddy (yay LOVEBEAM) who I am still attached to and I have made it down to a 60 pound loss a little bit before July 12, 2009. Oh what a feeling! I couldn’t be more happier with myself.
The new goal for the year is to actually get down to a bodybuilders competitive physique. I don’t want to compete, but I want the look. I really really want the look and I am well on my way. With eating clean and exercising on a regular basis I know I can do it. I will also continue to chart my progress and keep a dieting journal…w/o these two tools I couldn’t have been successful in my first year.
I am now 31 years old and I am in the best shape of my life. I’m serious. I’ve never ever ran past my front lawn before a year ago. I’ve ran close to 3500 miles in my first year total. I’m still shocked about that.
To date, I am 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing in at 165lbs, sporting 28 inch waist and wearing a size 8! I am so proud of me!
