Had a fabulous weekend, but…

eating clean went out the window!

I had a wonderful Saturday. I went to the city to get my naval piercing and while I was out there I grabbed a slice of NYC Italian Pizza and you all know that fresh neopolitan pizza is the best!

I also went to Larry Holmes’ place out in Easton, PA and had a ball. I drank Sangria like a fish in water. I had a blast! I also had a California cheesburger and fries. Yum!

Yesterday, I ate three slices of Domino’s pizza and Cinnastix. Ahhhh! Then I ate Chinese food…fully loaded! I am up 2.4 pounds which is fine. All that I ate was fine because I was out with friends having a good time and enjoying my new body. Cheeese!!!

When I get that pic with Larry I’ll post it…the Champ is the man! His place is nice place by the way.

Leaning out feels SO good!

Sorry for the darkness and bluriness, but the kid took the pics!.

Back to Basics…
Today is March 2, 2009 and we all know what that means. My Hardcore Series rotation begins today and lasts throughout to May 2, 2009 which is the day I leave for vacation. I have pleaded with myself this morning that I will eat clean for the entire month of March…no, I’m not kidding myself. I can do it! You’ll see! I started off good today. I just need to get to the market when I run out of something and make sure that I get my lunches ready the night before. My daughter is good with the Foreman grill so I don’t have to personally cook anymore and I can get my workout done early. I pop something out of the freezer and she gets it on the grill. She can also steam veggies and she’s been putting my salads together. Sweet! She likes to cook which is fine. Now if only I can get her to clean something!

Last Thursday, I received my Hardcore Series DVDs so I decided to test a few of them out. I did a little of Gym Styles: Back, Shoulders and Triceps on the 26th and it was tough! Oh my! I thought I was strong ha! The rep numbers are high which is why I was caught off guard so I needed to bring my weight load down so I wouldn’t go into failure quickly. I also tried out the first segment of Core Max (I LOVE CORE MAX!) and did a little step aerobics from IMAX 3 (30 mins – kicked my butt) with the entire Gym Styles Chest and Triceps on the 27th…it ran over 100 mins in total, but it was worth it as I was just testing it out. I do not do cardio on strength days ever just to let you know. Again, this was only to check out my new DVDs.

Tonight, according to my rotation schedule I have to do Gym Styles Chest and Triceps which I know is tough, but I know what to expect now that I di did it on Friday. Weight load down! I like how Cathe incorporates the incline bench because I had never done any incline/decline work before. It’s true! I never did any incline or decline work before last week, but now I know how important it is now. After doing them, a few days later, I noticed some soreness in my upper chest. I wasn’t working my upper chest!!!!! How sad. :( I’m also going to do a segment from Core Max as well as I always work out my abs on every strength day.

So, this week I’m staying inside the house because it snowed about six inches over here last night and today. The Hardcore Series cardio DVDs should whip me into shape just fine. I need to get back on the road and start pounding pavement. I really enjoy running so this is really disappointing. I got a really cool pair of Nike Shox that I need to break in anyway. We’ll see how long it will take for the snow to melt.

As for a side note, my rotation may change slightly because I have consulted with someone who got buffed and sculpted by doing Cathe’s Hardcore Series rotation, but she did it in her own way. I asked her for a copy of her rotation and she got back to me saying that she will get it all togther and will get it to me. I’m not sure when so I’m going to start off doing this rotation and whenever she gets back to me I’ll go ahead and transition. Take a look at her transformation…it only took her 12 weeks! No time to lose! Life is short!

Naval Piercing!
I got it done on Saturday and it’s sore today. It takes a lot of time to heal. I’m using saline solution on it and Lavendar oil. Though it’s sore when I touch it I have to clean it so that’s a bit uncomfortable. The whole thing took about thirty seconds…to pierce and to put the jewelry in. No big deal. No blood and guts or spillage LOL. No redness yet which I read shows up about four to five days after piercing. My piercer is the man! He owns Whatever Tattoo II on MacDougal and Bleeker in the West village. He didn’t do my tongue piercing about 7 years ago, but a piercer from Whatever Tattoo I did it for me so that’s why I went back to Whatever. I feel comfy there. No more piercings for me…two is enough. :)

Whatever Tattoo!
I also found the right tattoo artist and she’s, overall, a great artist (she showed me her work and she’s also on Myspace). I like her attitude and she’s easy to talk to and that’s what I really like about her. The vibes I get from her are positive and that’s the type of relationship you need with your piercer and your tat artist. I got her card and I will be going back sometime this month for a consultation and to put down a deposit for a custom tat. There will be words in my tat along with some celestial images and lots of colors. This piece will be one that I can add onto in the future. I really want a back mural. It’s going to cost me maybe 250-300 bucks, but I’m OK with that. I really want a tat and I cannot wait until next year.

My home gym needs to be setup in the right way, right now when I do step aerobics I’m tripping over my regular weight bench or hitting my head on the ceiling. Ha! There is a high part of the ceiling and a low part right over my gym space. I really need to get my TV mounted up on the wall. I feel better looking up when I’m working out versus down. So, tonight after my workout, I’m going to sit down with the baby on my step (she loves to sit on my Cathe Step – ha!) and we’re going to think about how we can switch the room around for the millionth time to get it more functional.

So here are my goals for the month of March 2009

-to eat clean the entire time + plus sugar-free chocolate milk
-to not miss one workout and to put my all into all of my workouts
-to make sure I track my nutrition online (I do it in my book, but when others look at it too I feel more accountable for my actions)
-to keep an eye on my caloric intake and to make sure I’m eating all of my meals
-stay on track with my supplements (I’m OK with this)
-drink at least one protein shake a day

I can reach my goals because I care.
