170.4lbs today!!!

OMG! I’ve been here before and that was during my 28th week…January 19 to January 25, 2009. That was such a long time ago. But today I am 170.4lbs baby!!!…again! If not for that major set back I would have been under 170 or even at my ideal weight (163) had I not screwed up with my blood pressure pills.

I failed my St. Patty’s Day weight loss challenge of 10lbs. I lost a total of 3lbs which is music to my ears because I thought I was going to be up 10lbs. Whew!!! Hey, I did better than last month where I gained .8lbs. Sad. Here is my St. Patty’s Day weight loss ticker again and it has also been retired today. I have to put up a new one…I’m not sure which challenge I’m going to join up in. I’ll know tomorrow.

Tonight is my cardio night so I’m going to take a stab at Cathe’s Low Max and again, it requires a step. The moves are complicated and in my spare time I really should practice. I’m going to start practicing on the weekends and learn such things as Over the Top which is a leg movement and a slice which is an arm movement and putting everything together. Step aerobics is not easy for beginners. I will get it right one day. I struggle on the Mambo Pivot move because you have to mambo then pivot and turn and get back on the step some how. I get really frustrated when I can’t get it right. I did try once closing my eyes and listening to Cathe as she gave the cues and that did help. I just need to concentrate more and stop trying to focus on the TV so much. I almost hurt myself a few times because I missed the step. Ha!

I lunged last week going down with my back right leg and pierced my quad. OMG! I forgot what that felt like. The last time I pierced my quad was when I was doing the 30 Day Shred and that was painful because I was doing that everyday. Even after a few days of not lunging and just stretching I could still feel the a piercing sensation way down deep in my quad. I’m come to the realization that my quads heal slow so on my last Legs day I had to take it easy with the lunging on that side. I’m also thinking that maybe my weights were too heavy as I was lunging. Cathe had used 10s and I had used 20s. I don’t know, but I’ll see on Friday which is my next legs day. I should be good by then because I have no circuits to do this week in my rotation.

Tonight, I’m going to figure out a new way to cook my chicken breast because my oldest is starting to complain. She’s tired of eating fish and chicken and veggies for dinner. I’m thinking I can make some kind of lime sauce with olive oil, lime, thyme and minced garlic to dribble over the grilled poultry and even over the veggies. We seriously do need a change and I’m going to work on that.

Pushups…
I am getting stronger by the week and I can tell because my pushups are becoming easier and easier to do. I’m loving it! I can do modifieds all day, but I can do about 10 pushups the regular way by taking a 15 second break and doing another 10 and then another 10. So that’s 30 pushups I can do in one sitting. Nice!
