Slowly, but surely. I weighed in at 172.8 today. Nice!
I know that miracles can happen because I was able to purchase clothing out of ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH yesterday at the mall. Yeah baby! I am officially in a size 10…a real size 10 baby! I still can’t believe it. When I go into a changing room now and I look at myself I’m like, “whoa mama, you’re thin!“. I’m loving this too much. I need to cut it or I won’t have any money left to buy anything. I went to New York and Company as well, like I always do and since it was an outlet store they didn’t have any jeans in my size available so I’ll need to check back next week. In dress pants the size 10 is loose, but the 8 is a little too snug, but not tight. I’m not ready to visit a tailor yet so I’ll just hold off and keep using safety pins in my bigger pants…14s and 16s until I drop down into a comfy 8. I was able to buy two pairs of size 10 work capris and two medium shirts from there. I did the same thing at A&F, but I bought summer clothes for my vacation. I was able to get a towel dress for 20 bucks on clearance…Juicy Couture wants 120 bucks for theirs. I would love one (because I’m a name brand baby), but no way!
My arms look normal now and even from behind. I used to look so big on top and now I’ve shrunk. My arms was my biggest problem area and now it’s trying to make me happy which is nice. I still have lots of work to do so I’m burning calories like crazy. This week I’m eating totally clean as an experiment. I have a small pack of Oreos in my purse…so not mine, but they are in there and I’m wondering how I’m going to get it out and into the trash can and out on my sidewalk. Hmmmm…this is a tough one! To be continued…
There are no bad foods… If you don’t think so then you’re crazy and I’ll say that again…THEN YOU’RE CRAZY! My blog, you’re crazy. Anything white laced is bad for you when you’re trying to keep a healthy diet. The white stuff triggers cravings and makes you go ballistic because 1. it doesn’t fill you up, 2. it burns slowly and 3. they are high in glycemic garbage (check the glycemic index) and what does sugar do to us ladies and gents?? It turns into fat because why? It burns slowly and what the body can’t turn into energy turns into fat and we do not want that! Period. What is this white stuff that I should not eat? It’s very simple. Keep these seeds of Chucky out of your diet and you’ll definitely lose weight and you’ll feel more energized and you will not compromise your health AND created risks of illness for yourself. These are known as bad carbs.
1. white bread – if in the ingredients list it doesn’t state 100% whole wheat flour then you shouldn’t eat it. If it says whole wheat flour you should pass that by too because it doesn’t state 100% whole wheat. If it says wheat flour then you should run away because wheat flour IS white flour. You want bread to contain 100% whole wheat.
2. white potatoes – for me these are the devil. one medium sized sweet potato is healthier then one small sized white potato and if you don’t believe me check your glycemic index and compare the two. white potatoes are very high in carbs and carbs are what? Sugar!
3. white pasta – this can be compared to white potatoes. I used to love white pasta, but I no longer eat it because why? It’s high in carbs aka sugar and it’s not healthy for your body.
4. white rice – I think I covered this in my blog last year, but I’m going to just going to continue with this. White rice may not have an impact on Asians way of life, but it has a big impact on the lives of African Americans. African-Americans suffer the most from heart disease, stroke, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc. more than any other race. Doctors tell us that we should switch over to brown rice or not eat rice at all. One cup of brown rice per day is enough for anyone. I’ve witnessed Asians in my neighborhood Chinese Restaurant only eat one cup of white rice with their meals. They don’t brown their rice, add stuff to it to call it wild rice, they don’t oil it up or load it up with salt for taste, they don’t fry it that’s for sure and they don’t eat a lot of it…is why most Asians are thin and healthy. We should take note. But living in the west, I’ll say this, leave the white rice alone…if you must have rice go with brown and do your one cup per day. It’s the most sensible thing to do.
Moving on…I tried my first Eat-Clean recipe today and let me say this (pay attention Pam), I enjoyed cooking it up! No lies! I enjoyed it. I enjoyed seasoning my turkey meat with fresh herbs and spices, I cooked up my egg whites and I sauteed my spinach, garlic and tomatoes. I mixed it all up and I got this…

It doesn’t look like the picture in the book (Eat-Clean Diet Cookbook 13 – Egg White and Turkey Scramble) because my food is actually cooked. Don’t get it twisted. In cookbooks, they half cook food so that it keeps it’s color and form for pictures. Ha! It tastes so yummy. I added extra garlic because I love garlic. I could barely taste the spinach and of course I ate it with a salad.
Here are the results of my V-Day Challenge...

I fell short by 3.2lbs which is actually not bad. I thought I would have had to whole 20lbs gone, but hey, I’m in a new challenge. I have to get down to 163 by St. Patty’s Day (3/17/09) – 10lbs needs to be gone. I’m sure I can do it. When I’m done with this challenge then I’m done losing weight. I’m already skinny with no behind so I can’t image being down to 153lbs…ewwwww.
OK now, say hello to my little friends!

I’ve finally got my supplements together, purchased and I’ve been on them for a week now. What a cocktail, huh? Niacin, multi-vitamin, flax oil, CO Q-10 (I love this one because it take food and turns into energy), Vitamin E, Fish Oil and Vitamin D.
Last, but not least…I finally bought myself my first COACH bag today! It was an expensive gift to myself for losing 50lbs. It’s from last season, but I love it because it’s red and red is what? It’s my favorite color!
When I saw it I had to have it. I had the same bag from the Zoe collection on my list which I had down for tan, but I walked out with a red one. It even matches my cell phone case. Now all I need is a pair of matching shoes and a belt!
Oh happy day!
