Making room for the rest of my life

Working out this week is going to be a challenge because I started picking at my basement this past weekend. I didn’t realize how much junk and garbage (stuff that doesn’t work or we don’t use anymore) that’s down there. I have starting shifting stuff from one side of the room to the other so it’s covering up my equipment. So, with that being said I’ll be cleaning basement for the remainder of this week so I can complete my home gym.

I’m going to go running tonight. A long run. I’ve cut my C25k training short because I want to just wing it. I can follow a program for a while, but not long. I enjoy running so I’m going to run my own way. I want to start running for time and speed. I’m going to work on speed right now because my time is terrible! If I can get my pace up then my time will improve. I can’t express how much I love to get out there and run. Winter will soon be over and days will become longer and my cooking time will become less so I’ll have more time to run.

I’ve taken a few more progress pics (as I do every month) so here they are as of Feb. 9, 2009.

Yep, confidence is way up high. The better my body becomes the less I can dress!! Woot! Venice Beach here I come!

I also took my measurements yesterday because it was a daily challenge my SBD team leader setup so I did it as I do all of her challenges daily. The last time I had taken my measurements was back on December 22, 2008. Here is what I found out yesterday…

Not bad, huh? Doing ab and core work three times a week…about 100 ab/core exercises involving both lower, upper and obliques can do a World of wonder! I knew it would pay off (weighted standard crunches, weighted crunches on ball, weighted standard/reverse combo, oblique twists from a plank, weighted oblique crunches, reverse crunches, weighted crossbody crunches, oblique heel touches, bicycle crunches, planks and superman exercises). I will keep all of that up!

I’m having a hard time moving out of the 170s and I’m trying to figure out why. My weight fluctuates between 176 and 174 off an on…I can’t seem to get back to 173. I’ve added in more cardio into my workout so I’ll see what happens. I’m going to run tonight so my next cardio day is Thursday…I’ll see then what happens.

I’m going to be ordering the Power 90x and in saying all of that I won’t need to purchase a new barbell set or plates until I’m done. Tony says all I need are resistance bands, dummbells and a pull up bar. My mind wanders and I change my mind so often, but I do think a lot and asked myself if STS is worth it for me right now. I came up with the answer no because I have yet to see results from the program since it’s new. I’ve seen Power 90x results from real people so I know it works. I want to be ripped and I definitely want to “bring it”. It’s not a walk in the park and I get that, but I’m willing to put the work, time and effort in…I’m ready.

I wanted to also note that I bought my supplements and I have yet to take them. I keep forgetting. They are located right on my dresser in my bedroom and I walk right past it. I need one of those containers for each day that I can carry in my purse. Someone please remind me that I need this. Better yet, let me write this down right now!

I decided on a multivitamin (finally), CO-Enzyme Q10, Fish Oil and Niacin. I need to still get an EFA supplement along with Amino Acids and then hopefully…Glutamine. I haven’t gotten my whey yet, I’m still trying to decide if I want to go with the GNC brand or just get it from Costco. I want the vanilla flavor for sure.

I hate food shopping.
Here are some things that are on my list to get from the Whole Foods Store…well before I get to that, I need to go and really explore the Whole Foods Market store. They have so much in there. I need to take my time and look what they have to offer. I’m definitely going to get my flaxseed and oils from there. I’m going to see how much their organic canned veggies costs. I want to also get my grains and dried beans from there as well. Bison…I’d like to give that a try too.

Lastly, I wanted to say that overall I am very proud of myself. I’m starting to transform and look good AND I can wear less clothes without feeling ashamed. Some people think I’m over doing this “healthy thing”, but I don’t think so. I’m trying to build a good quality of life for myself. At one time I wanted to die because I had so much physical pain…not anymore!

Life is good!
