And that’s why I workout at home

I got this image from an article that a SBD teammate of mine posted today in our forum called, “Exercising etiquette: Don’t be a gym diva“, in which she thought was amusing. I read the article and it immediately reminded me of the reasons as to why I love working out at home and why I hate the gym.

Why do I love to work out at home, you ask?

1. Well, I get to have my privacy. I can workout in any clothing I want and I can do squats knowing that nobody is staring at my rear end while I’m down there.

2. I love the fact that I don’t have to wait to use the treadmill or the bike. Mostly importantly, I don’t have to go searching for the proper weights and pounds I want to use.

3. I am not restricted to how much time I have to wait to use my equipment. I don’t do waiting lists!

4. I get to watch what I want on television AND I get to blast my own music. Say no to earphones!

5. I don’t have to worry about somebody elses sweat on my equipment. And you know what? Sweat is gross and there is a lot of it inside a gym. Strangers bodily fluids do not sit right with me and it’s outright disgusting thinking about it all over handle bars, weight benches, mats, etc. I don’t even want to think about it and I don’t have to anymore.

6. I don’t have to deal with the smell of funk in the locker room. Yes, the women’s locker room has funky smell to it too. Warning!

7. When I leave my home gym and come back, everything is where I left it. I don’t have to worry about somebody “being in my spot” either.

8. The equipment in my home gym suits me well because I chose all of it, I know it’s not being abused and that it’s working properly for me..

9. I have to pay for my equipment, exercise DVDs and books, but it’s a whole lot cheaper than a gym membership and having to pay for a busy personal trainer who is tending to more than one client at time – stay clear of these types of trainers. I’d rather spend my free time researching and putting together my own fitness plans and doing my own fitness calculations anyway.

10. This is the last main reason why I love to workout at home (I have many of them, but they are small beans that I will not get into at this time)…I DO NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE EGOS, THE ATTITUDES, THE DRAMA AND THE DIVAS (male and female) WHO ROLL UP IN THE GYM ON A DAILY BASIS.

I had to take a loss and throw away my Bally’s membership some time ago after I got serious about my health. And that is it for today’s post.

Have a good day! :)
