5lb leeway and I don’t like it


I am officially 5lbs heavier from my 50lb weight loss. My SBD sisters told me to give myself a 5lb leeway because our weight fluctuates all day, everyday. Well, I haven’t been helping the situation. I ended up at White Castle’s last night. Scratch that…I ended up at McDonald’s last night, but then got out of the drive-thru because they were taking forever to get on to take my order so I drove over to White Castles. Now, if that was not a sign to take my behind home then I don’t know what is. I ordered a #1 with cheese…I ate three White Castle cheeseburgers and most of the fries. I sipped on the medium Hi-C a little bit. It didn’t taste all that good either and it served me right. Because I did that I have to back into Phase 2 of South Beach which is fine because I can knock off a lingering 5lbs in about a week. So my only snack that I can have now is sugar-free Hershey’s chocolate milk with only 2 TBSP and a cup of low-fat milk (I usually have 2 TBSP and 2 cups of low-fat milk).

So, that was my confession for today. My motto is that if I can’t be honest with myself then how can I be honest to others? I laid it all out. Did I learn from my mistake? Yes, along time ago. The sad part is that I knew what I was doing, but I didn’t care. I care because I’m looking at my belly which leads to the next thing I want to talk about.

This may be a “duh” (I hate that expression) moment, but some foods I eat just blow my belly up right away. Let’s see…protein does it big time. In the morning when I wake, my belly is so flat and pretty. It’s also that way after I get home from work too. After I eat something heavy, my belly just swells up so when I go out somewhere I want to look cute…I just don’t eat. I’ll sip on something to drink, but I will only take a small sip every 5-10 minutes. I hope this doesn’t sound silly. I’ve been eating clean all day and I’ve eaten my lunch (chicken breast and salad) and my tummy has swelled. Beans make my belly swell too. I was thinking about going with Tofu and trying that out. If that doesn’t make my belly swell then I’ll eat that about three to four times a week. I guess that sounds like a plan. I hate that my belly sweels after eating because it’s the biggest issue I have right now. I’m thin everywhere else, working on becoming lean and then there is that belly fat and it pops right out after I eat something heavy or a protein. I’m done with this for now. Off my soapbox.

I updated the instructions on how to set a Garmin Forerunner 305 for C25k training because I left some steps out. I didn’t realize it until someone who read my blog (thanks Michelle) surfed in and emailed me telling me Thanks! I totally screwed up. I emailed her back immediately and sent her the proper instructions. Here is the link to the instructions. To everyone who has taken the old instructions…I APOLOGIZE!

Tonight, I have to do both my legs strength workout because I missed it last night. I had to do something for my oldest and then I got side tracked. This means that tonight is going to be a very hard one. I have to decide if I should do my strengths first and then run or do it the other way around. I think I may do my strengths first because after my runs I just want to just plop down on the sofa.

Today marks Week 3, Day 1 of my C25K training so I’ve completed 2 weeks so far with flying colors so far. And I’m doing well I must say. I still have weeks to go to completion, but I feel really good about my chances of finishing my first 5k. I have to submit the paperwork and my 18 bucks to register. I also want to invite some family and friends to come and cheer me on. I hope they come. I really need the support or maybe not. I’ve been my only sole supporter so far and I’m very OK with that. I will look for them when I go for my first triathlon though because I’m going to really need love and support for that one.
