I completed my Week 2, Day 1 of C25K on Monday and it went very well. Again, my Garmin did the unexpected…didn’t record any of my stats except for the time. I’m now learning, after asking some questions, that my satellites were not loaded or lost connection. From now on I will turn on my Garmin at the front door and leave it on the porch so that it fully connect and keep the single. Before, I would turn it on and put it on my wrist and wear it before I go outside…not good.
My Week 2, Day 1 was not hard. I had to run for 90 seconds and walk/rest for two minutes. I utilized my two minutes of rest as I needed it. My lungs didn’t hurt so this means that I’m progressing. I love this program and I will continue to the end. I’d like to be able to run at a steady pace for 3.1 miles without walking. This will make me place better in my first 5K. I just hope I won’t come out in last place.
Cathe’s STS started shipping yesterday and a lot of the ladies who ordered it are very excited to be getting it. I don’t have the DVDs and I don’t know when I’ll be ready to order, but I will be doing the program with my Cathe Fans Spark team on February 8th. I just need to go and print out the STS cards and I’ll be on my way. The first Mesocycle focuses on muscle endurance, the second focuses on hypotrophy and the third focuses on all strength. After I’m done with that rotation and see my results it will tell me if I should do another three months or get back on Krista’s rotation. I don’t have all of the equipment to do STS so I’ll just improvise.
This may sound really cheesy, but it has been done by lots of running groups and I’m going to run the ficticious route Rocky Balboa ran in Philadelphia. I’m going to go ahead and run up the steps and do my Rocky cheer and get some pics doing that in my running gear. I’ll be sure to post it on my blog. I hope to do this before the Winter is over. There is also a Rocky workout that Sylvester Stallone had to do before doing the movie Rocky and I’m going to check that out too to see what it’s all about.
“…oh the joy when I realise that the steps leading up to it are the very ones that Sylvester Stallone ran up in Rocky. I feel like a kid again and cannot resist the temptation to sprint up the steps. I turn and look back down the road at a great view of the city framed by two fantastic statues of topless horse women fighting demons with spears at the foot of the steps. I then notice two more tourists running up the steps the one is filming the other with a hand held camera whilst singing ‘The eye of the tiger’. Several more people do their Rocky impression before I reach the foot of the steps and turn to the left to have my photo taken in front of the Rock statue.” —

Transformation…that is what I want to do. I’m going to dip myself into a little CrossFit as well. I’m not going to do the whole program, but I’m going to do some daily challenges from my Crossfit Spark team. The leader over there (Bekah) is awesome. She said that it took her a year to transform. Her body is what I want for myself….exactly. I finally find my #1 she-ro and she motivates me.
Speaking of motivation, my Spark Buddy LoveBeam motivates me as well. She is just like me. She has a yearning to learn and a will to lose the weight to become fit. I’m glad I have a buddy like that because buddies like that are hard to come by. Keep up the good work LB!
Lastly, I wanted to say that being on schedule has made my fitness life easier. I follow it to the T and it helps me to reach my goals. I cannot stress how important it is to organize your plans and when you do that it makes you do what you have to do. It’s take a lot of effort to keep up with it, but it is so worth it in the end.
