After taking my goal reached day and some of this morning…I decided to come up with my goals for the next 26 weeks and it’s not just my goals for 2009 – it can exceed 2009 if need be as long as it all gets done. Why did I pick the number 26? Well, that’s how many weeks it took me to reach my weight loss goal of losing 50lbs so it’s my lucky number now. And the time couldn’t be more perfect too. So, here is my rough draft because I need some time to write up a preliminary goals list because it’s going to take more components than losing weight. I am now focused on my fitness since my eating habits are basically stuck with me for the rest of my life. No more being a fat girl for me! Never again.
My initial goals back in July of 2008 were:
- to lose 50lbs (done)
- to start and continue to eat healthy (done)
- to become fit (done)
- to become addicted to living a healthy life (done)
- to research everything fitness (done)
- to meet new friends who share the same goals as I (done)
- to ride a motorcycle (done)
- to master Jillian’s 30 Day Shred (done)
- to learn how to swim (haven’t done it yet)
- to do the Power 90 or 90x (haven’t attempted it yet)
- to rid myself of HBP (I did, but it came back – heredity took over)
I achieved most of my goals since then, but now I have new and more effective ones since I have educated myself more re: nutrition and fitness
Rough Draft of my next set of goals:
- to lose at least 9% of my body fat so I can look lean and sculpted
- to slowly modify my eating habits…move from South Beach Diet dieting to one where I can start to build muscle mass
- to look into protein supplements and power mixes
- to go from traditional cardio workouts to HIIT workouts and do more circuit training
- to focus on doing more compound weight lifting exercises and modifying my number of sets and reps
- to workout on my 1 rep max for each exercise that I put into my programs
- to start taking my measurements!!!!!
- to master the Couch-to-5K programe and to train for my first 5k and will look into one to register for and want my first to be right here in Jersey
- to learn how to swim
- to learn how to row
- to work at becoming a triathlete (running, swimming and cycling)
- to take my first spinning class and continue doing that at least once a week before I get into cycling
- to get my road bike for Xmas 2009 – they are expensive, even the used ones
- to always work hard and give my all to everything I do
- TO GET A NEW CAMERA or to have my best friend Lisa to take my progress pics because she has a professional camera and she’s big shutterbug (good idea)
- to get my workout room all setup (still working hard on this) and to get the extra barbell and dumbbell weights I need
- to find a better way to log my overall progress online to show others how I’m making it and I really want to use John Stone’s method (he has a nice way of showing his progress on his blog too), but I first need to understand it first so I need go do more reading up.
- to really think about going back to school to become a Dietitian since it’s what I really love and have an interest in
- to also get a custom theme and graphics for my blog that reflect me, my personality and my attitude toward fitness
I have a lot to setup as you can see, but it’s fun doing it and I’ll be doing it. I will continue to update my logs every two to three days depending on how busy I get. I was on bodybuilding.com the other day and this one chick went from me to a mountain in 4.5 months of hard work she says. Wow! She’s a little more than I want to be though. She’s muscular and I don’t want that. I want to show a little muscle to show I’m in shape, but I don’t want to be a body builder. I hope I don’t go too far.
